We would like to take this opportunity to update our patients regarding the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).
The CDCP is a dental benefit administered by Health Canada. It is not a free dental program.
Patients will qualify based on their net family income and must make a co-payment for costs the CDCP does not cover. Details on qualification criteria can be found on the Government of Canada website.
The Canadian Dental Association and respective provincial associations have concerns that the CDCP will impact the level of care available to patients.
Until our associations are satisfied that patient care will be maintained or improved, we follow their advice and will wait before signing up as a CDCP provider.
We strongly encourage you NOT to cancel your private insurance OR delay any dental treatment you may need.
We will continue to treat our patients with the same exceptional and personal care we have always provided. This is important to us!
Please refer to the Government of Canada link above or the Alberta Dental Association for more information.
