Achieve Your Ideal Smile
Veneers allow a dentist to create a highly aesthetic and natural looking smile. Veneers can be used to change the shape, colour, or length of your existing teeth giving you the smile you’ve always dreamed of.
Veneers are often an alternative to braces as they can make dramatic changes without the lengthy treatment time.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin layers of tooth-like material that are adhered to the front surface of your teeth to change their shape, size, or colour.
While they are considered permanent, veneers do need to be replaced every 10-15 years. You can extend the life of your veneers by taking good care of them, maintaining a strong routine of oral hygiene, and by not biting anything too hard (particularly anything that isn’t food.)
Veneers’ lifespan will also depend on the material from which they’re made.
Types of Veneers
Porcelain veneers are custom-made for your teeth based on an impression we take of your bite. After preparing your teeth for veneers, we take a mold of your teeth, and send it to a laboratory. Once your veneers are finished, we’ll have you come back into our office so we can adhere them to your natural teeth.
Composite veneers are made using a resin-like material, which is applied directly to your teeth. The composite is then shaped and sculpted to look like a natural tooth. Once the dentist has achieved the desired shape and size, they will cure it with a special light, allowing it to harden.
